Responsible Play

At Fort McMurray Casino, we want gambling to stay what it should be: a form of entertainment you choose and control. For most people it is a fun pastime, but for some it can become a problem. This page explains our commitment, the tools you can use to stay in control, and where to find free and confidential help.

Our Commitment

We are committed to:

  • giving you clear, easy-to-use tools to manage your play;
  • allowing only verified players aged 19 or older to gamble with us;
  • training our team to recognize signs of harm and respond with care;
  • never marketing to players who have taken a break or self-excluded;
  • stepping in, including restricting accounts, when we see signs that play is becoming harmful.

Tips for Safer Play

  • Treat gambling as a cost of entertainment, not a way to make money.
  • Set a budget before you play and stick to it.
  • Never chase losses.
  • Avoid playing when stressed, upset or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Balance gambling with other activities and take regular breaks.

Tools You Control

Deposit, Wager and Stake Limits

You can set daily, weekly or monthly limits on how much you deposit, how much you wager in total, and how much you stake on a single bet. Once a limit is reached, you cannot go beyond it until the period resets.

Reality Checks and Time Alerts

Reality checks show a pop-up at intervals you choose, reminding you how long you have been playing and how much you have won or lost. Time alerts help you keep track of your sessions so time does not slip away.

Take a Break / Cooling-Off

If you need a pause, you can take a break for any period from 24 hours to 6 weeks. During this time you cannot log in to play or deposit, and you will not receive marketing from us. A break cannot be cancelled once it starts.

Self-Exclusion and Account Closure

If you feel gambling is becoming a problem, you can self-exclude for a longer period or close your account. During self-exclusion, your account is locked, marketing stops, and we take steps to prevent new accounts being opened. We strongly encourage you to also seek support from one of the organizations listed below.

Self-Assessment Quiz

Our self-assessment quiz asks a short set of questions about your gambling habits. It is private and helps you reflect on whether your play may be causing harm.

KYC and Geolocation Checks

We complete identity verification and geolocation checks before any deposit. This confirms your age, makes sure the account belongs to you, and confirms you are playing from a permitted location.

How Limits Take Effect

Changes that make your limits stricter apply instantly. Changes that loosen a limit, such as raising a deposit limit or removing it, take 24 hours to come into effect. This delay gives you time to reconsider a decision that may have been made in the moment.

Self-Assessment: Questions to Ask Yourself

Answering yes to any of the following may be a sign that gambling is affecting your life:

  • Do you spend more money or time gambling than you intended?
  • Have you tried to cut back but found it hard?
  • Do you gamble to escape problems or feelings of stress or sadness?
  • Do you chase losses by playing more to win money back?
  • Have you borrowed money or sold things to gamble?
  • Has gambling caused arguments with family or friends?
  • Do you hide your gambling from people close to you?

If any of these sound familiar, consider using our tools and reaching out to one of the support services below.

Protecting Minors

Gambling is for adults only. Everyone who plays with us must be 19 or older and pass our verification checks. If you share a device with children or teenagers, keep your login details private, log out after every session and use parental-control software. See our Underage Gambling Policy for more information.
